Welcome back to the Who Got The Points newsletter - your essential FPL briefing before every deadline. Gameweek 35 is shaping up to be one of the most chaotic of the season, with injury concerns at Arsenal, a huge fitness doubt over Salah, and a captaincy race that's been turned on its head. Here's everything you need to know before Friday's 5:30pm deadline.

🚨 GW35 Injury News Bulletin

O'Reilly

Saliba

Before we get into the transfer targets, here's the key injury news you need on your radar right now.

  • Arsenal: Both Eze and Havertz came off early in Saturday's 1-0 win over Newcastle. Fitness updates are pending - monitor closely before the deadline. Saka started on the bench but did come on, which is encouraging. Hall was also benched, so hold off on any Arsenal asset purchases until there's clarity.

  • Spurs: Both Xavi and Solanke picked up knocks in the 1-0 win over Wolves. Check their fitness before the Aston Villa fixture in GW35.

  • Salah: The biggest story of the week. There are injury concerns following Liverpool's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, with reports suggesting this could even be his final appearance in a Liverpool shirt. This is huge news for FPL managers - DO NOT captain Salah in GW35 until there is full clarity on his fitness.

✅ Transfers IN for Gameweek 35

1. O'Reilly (Man City) - £5.1m | ESSENTIAL

O'Reilly is the most talked-about FPL asset right now, and for very good reason. With 15% ownership and over 52,000 transfers in this gameweek alone, managers are waking up to what he offers. He's registered 13 clean sheets, 5 goals, and 4 assists this season - an extraordinary return for a defender at just £5.1m.

Man City face Everton away on Monday 4th May. Everton carry a difficulty rating of 4, but City have only conceded 21 goals all season - making clean sheet potential very real. His expected points of 9.5 for GW35 make him a standout pick at this price point.

Verdict: Essential. If you don't have him, get him in before the deadline. He is rapidly becoming a non-negotiable asset in the final weeks of the season.

2. Gibbs-White (Nott'm Forest) - £7.6m | ESSENTIAL

Gibbs-White was one of the standout performers in GW34 - bagging a goal, an assist, a clean sheet, and two bonus points for 13 points in total. He now has 13 goals and 3 assists this season, with a stunning form rating of 11.7. His expected points of 11.2 for GW35 are the highest of any midfielder we're covering this week.

Yes, Forest face Chelsea away in GW35 - not the easiest fixture on paper - but on this form, you simply cannot ignore him. Over 84,000 managers have transferred him in this week, and ownership is climbing fast. He's been consistently recommended on the podcast and he keeps delivering.

Verdict: Essential. This is also our captaincy pick for GW35 - more on that below.

3. Cherki (Man City) - £6.4m | GOOD

Cherki has quietly racked up 11 assists and 4 goals this season - excellent output for £6.4m. With nearly 67,000 transfers in this week and 10.8% ownership, managers are recognising his value. Man City face Everton in GW35 and then Brentford in GW36 - two very playable fixtures for a City attacker.

His expected points of 8.2 make him an attractive mid-price option, and he's a smart, budget-friendly way into the City attack without breaking the bank on a premium option. He was flagged as a differential pick recently but is rapidly moving into must-own territory.

Verdict: Good. A clever pick if you're looking to free up funds elsewhere while still having City double coverage.

❌ Transfers OUT for Gameweek 35

1. Doku (Man City) - SELL

This advice was flagged a couple of days ago and it still stands. There's been no strong indication that Doku is nailing down a consistent starting spot, and with premium Man City options like O'Reilly and Cherki delivering consistent returns, the funds can be better used elsewhere.

Verdict: Sell. Move the money into players who are actually playing and producing.

2. Salah (Liverpool) - SELL (conditional)

This is painful to say. Salah has been the captain pick all season, but the injury concern following the Crystal Palace win is real and cannot be ignored. With reports even suggesting this could be his final Liverpool appearance, you cannot afford to hold him into GW35 with Man Utd at home without clarity on his fitness.

Monitor this very closely. If he's confirmed fit before Thursday, you might hold. But if there's no clarity by Thursday - Verdict: Sell. The risk is simply too great at this stage of the season.

3. Truffert - SELL

Truffert has been flagged for sale in recent episodes and nothing has changed. With better defensive options available at a similar price point, he offers limited upside in the remaining gameweeks.

Verdict: Sell. Don't overthink it - move on.

🎯 GW35 Differential Picks (Under 10% Ownership)

Looking for an edge on your mini-league rivals? These three under-the-radar picks could make the difference in the final weeks of the season.

You can also browse more differential players on our tool to find hidden gems across all positions.

1. Pedro Porro (Spurs) - £5.2m | 10.8% Ownership

Porro scored 9 points in GW34 with a clean sheet and two bonus points. He's registered 8 clean sheets and 3 assists this season, and his attacking threat from right-back makes him a genuine dual-threat asset. Spurs travel to Aston Villa in GW35 - tough on paper, but Porro's form and set-piece involvement make him compelling at just £5.2m.

He's listed under differentials due to his ownership, but at 10.8% he won't stay there for long. If you're looking for a value defender with real attacking upside, Porro is your man.

2. Verbruggen (Brighton) - £4.5m | 8.8% Ownership

If you need a budget goalkeeper upgrade, Verbruggen is the standout option. He's racked up 9 clean sheets and an incredible 95 saves this season - a phenomenal tally that demonstrates just how busy he stays. Brighton face Newcastle away in GW35, with both teams rated 3 for difficulty. A solid mid-table clash where a clean sheet is absolutely on the cards.

At £4.5m with expected points of 5.7, he's one of the best value goalkeepers in the game right now. Only 8.8% own him - which won't last.

3. Matheus Nunes (Man City) - £5.3m | 2.9% Ownership

The most under-owned differential on our list. Matheus Nunes has quietly recorded 11 clean sheets and 8 assists this season - exceptional output for a defender at £5.3m. With expected points of 6.2 for the Everton fixture, he offers genuine value in what is a very favourable double-week matchup for City assets.

With just 2.9% ownership, bringing him in gives you a significant edge over your mini-league rivals. City's fixtures look excellent and now is the time to act on him before ownership rises.

🏆 GW35 Captaincy Pick: Gibbs-White

With Salah's fitness in genuine doubt, the captaincy conversation for GW35 has shifted significantly. Our pick is Gibbs-White.

  • 13 points in GW34 (goal, assist, clean sheet, 2 bonus points)

  • 13 goals and 3 assists this season

  • Form rating of 11.7 - the highest among our recommended picks

  • Expected points of 11.2 for GW35

  • Over 84,000 transfers in this week

He's on fire and showing no signs of stopping. If you have him, he's your captain. If you don't, seriously consider bringing him in and handing him the armband for GW35.

Check injury updates on Havertz and Eze before the GW35 deadline on 1st May. If either is confirmed out, their replacements become immediate transfer targets - keep a free transfer ready for late-week news.
