🚨 Injury News You Need to Know

Rice

Tarkowski

Before we get into the transfers, here's a rapid-fire injury round-up that could affect your GW34 planning:

  • Gomez (Liverpool) - Picked up an injury in the Spurs vs Brighton draw. Monitor fitness updates closely before Friday.

  • Mitoma (Brighton) - Also injured in the same game. Doubtful for GW34.

  • Alderete (Aston Villa) - Injured, adding to Villa's defensive headaches after their 4-3 thriller vs Sunderland.

  • Branthwaite (Everton) - Injury from the Merseyside derby still unclear. Everton defenders are a risky proposition.

  • Gyökeres (Arsenal) - Only played 6 minutes against Man City. A serious concern heading into GW34.

  • Justin (Leeds) - Fitness being monitored after Leeds' 3-0 win over Wolves. Rotation risk midweek.

✅ Transfers IN for Gameweek 34

1. Morgan Rogers - Aston Villa MID | £7.4m

Rogers is the form midfielder you can no longer ignore. Despite being flagged as a potential sell just two days ago, his output is forcing a complete rethink.

  • Price: £7.4m

  • Ownership: 23.1% (and rising fast - nearly 46,000 transfers in this GW)

  • GW33 points: 8 (scored vs Sunderland)

  • Season totals: 9 goals, 7 assists

  • GW34 fixture: Villa vs Fulham (difficulty rating: 3)

  • Verdict: GOOD BUY

Nine goals and seven assists from a midfielder at £7.4m is exceptional output by any measure. The GW34 fixture against Fulham is perfectly manageable, and with ownership rising quickly you'll want to be ahead of the template here. His form and price point make him very hard to ignore.

2. Virgil van Dijk - Liverpool DEF | £6.2m

Virgil is fast becoming one of the best value picks in the game - and the GW34 fixture only makes him more compelling.

  • Price: £6.2m

  • Ownership: 32.8%

  • GW33 points: 8 (scored vs Everton)

  • Season totals: 4 goals, 10 clean sheets

  • GW34 fixture: Liverpool vs Crystal Palace (home)

  • Expected points GW34: 7.2

  • Verdict: ESSENTIAL

Four goals from a £6.2m defender with 10 clean sheets this season is premium value. Crystal Palace away at Anfield is always a tough ask, and with 7.2 expected points projected for GW34, Virgil looks like one of the best picks of the week. He's trending up in ownership for good reason.

3. Beto - Everton FWD | £5.0m

High risk, high reward. Beto is the differential gamble of the week - but the injury flag means you need to be patient.

  • Price: £5.0m

  • Ownership: 3.3%

  • GW33 points: 8 (scored)

  • Season totals: 8 goals

  • GW34 fixture: Everton vs West Ham (home)

  • Expected points GW34: 7.7

  • Injury status: Doubtful (75% chance of playing - head injury)

  • Verdict: WAIT for fitness confirmation, then buy if cleared

Eight goals at £5.0m is genuinely ludicrous value if he's fit. The 7.7 expected points against West Ham at home is an outstanding projection, and at just 3.3% ownership the differential potential is enormous. The head injury flag means you must wait for fitness confirmation before pulling the trigger - but if he's cleared, he could be the move of the gameweek.

❌ Transfers OUT for Gameweek 34

1. Viktor Gyökeres - Arsenal FWD | £8.8m

The rotation concerns at Arsenal are real, and Gyökeres can no longer be trusted at his premium price.

  • Price: £8.8m

  • Ownership: 11.9%

  • GW33 points: 1 (only played 6 minutes vs Man City)

  • Season totals: 12 goals

  • GW34 fixture: Arsenal vs Newcastle (home)

  • Verdict: SELL, especially if you have a viable alternative

Twelve goals this season is impressive on paper, but FPL is about trust. Two blanks in recent weeks combined with only six minutes on the pitch against Man City signals a serious rotation problem. The GW34 fixture against Newcastle is decent on paper, but if he can't be guaranteed a full 90 minutes, the £8.8m price tag becomes very difficult to justify. Move on.

2. David Raya - Arsenal GK | £6.0m

Arsenal's defensive fragility is making their assets increasingly difficult to hold.

  • Price: £6.0m

  • Ownership: 33.5%

  • GW33 points: 1

  • Season totals: 15 clean sheets

  • Form rating: 1 (very poor recently)

  • Expected points GW34: 2

  • Verdict: SELL or seriously consider a switch

Fifteen clean sheets across the season has been brilliant, but Arsenal have been conceding regularly in recent weeks and Raya is now projected at just 2 expected points for GW34. With better goalkeeping options available, holding on for historical loyalty doesn't make sense right now.

3. Gabriel - Arsenal DEF | £7.1m

At 42.6% ownership, Gabriel blanks are devastating for your rank - and another one is looking increasingly likely.

  • Price: £7.1m

  • Ownership: 42.6%

  • GW33 points: 0 (played 90 mins vs Man City in a 2-1 defeat)

  • Form rating: 2 (poor recent form)

  • Expected points GW34: 3

  • GW34 fixture: Arsenal vs Newcastle (home)

  • Verdict: SELL and reinvest in Liverpool or Villa assets

Playing a full 90 minutes and returning zero points in a match Arsenal lost 2-1 perfectly illustrates the problem. With only 3 expected points projected for GW34 and a form rating of just 2, the writing is on the wall. At 42.6% ownership, blanks hit your rank hard. Reinvest that £7.1m into Liverpool or Villa assets who are delivering right now.

🎯 Differential Picks for GW34

These under-the-radar options could be the difference between winning and losing your mini-league this week.

Differential 1: Beto - Everton FWD | £5.0m | 3.3% ownership

Already covered above, but worth repeating - if Beto is cleared to play, he is the differential of the gameweek. 3.3% ownership, 7.7 expected points, home fixture against West Ham. Simple as that. Wait for fitness news and move fast.

Differential 2: Igor Jesus - Nott'm Forest FWD | £5.8m | 1.3% ownership

Igor Jesus is completely under the radar and could be about to have a big moment.

  • Price: £5.8m

  • Ownership: 1.3%

  • GW33 points: 7 (scored after coming on for 45 mins vs Arsenal)

  • Season totals: 4 goals, 4 assists

  • GW34 fixture: Sunderland vs Forest (Friday evening opener, 7pm kick-off)

  • Verdict: Watch for starting confirmation, then strongly consider

Four goals and four assists for under £6m is brilliant value, and Forest have been in fantastic form. The GW34 opener on Friday evening means you'll know quickly if he's involved. At 1.3% ownership, the differential upside is enormous. The key question is whether he starts rather than coming off the bench.

Differential 3: Mateta - Crystal Palace FWD | £7.6m | 7.3% ownership

Mateta travels to Anfield in GW34 - a tough fixture on paper, but he's a player who shows up in big games.

  • Price: £7.6m

  • Ownership: 7.3%

  • Season totals: 10 goals

  • GW34 fixture: Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

  • Status: Did not play in GW33, so he arrives fresh

  • Verdict: Differential option with big-game potential

Liverpool at home is always a daunting fixture, but Mateta's 10 goals this season and his reputation for delivering in high-profile games makes him an intriguing differential. At 7.3% ownership, there's still meaningful upside, and he comes into GW34 fresh having not featured in GW33.

🏆 Captaincy Pick for GW34

Two strong options stand out this week, but there's a clear favourite:

Virgil van Dijk vs Crystal Palace (H) - 7.2 expected points, home fixture, four goals already this season from defence. He is the GW34 captaincy pick.

Who Got The Points Podcast

If you want a slightly safer alternative with outstanding output, Rogers at Villa vs Fulham is a compelling shout - nine goals and seven assists this season speaks for itself. But Virgil gets the nod based on that Liverpool home fixture, his consistency, and the projected 7.2 expected points.

⏰ Deadline Reminder - Don't Get Caught Out!

The Gameweek 34 deadline is Friday, 25th April at 5:30pm - this is earlier than a standard Saturday deadline. The Sunderland vs Forest opener kicks off at 7pm the same evening, so you'll have very little time to react once news breaks. Get your transfers locked in well before 5:30pm on Friday.
