📰 GW29 Recap & GW30 Key Fixtures
Here's what went down in Gameweek 29 and what it means heading into GW30:
Wolves 2-1 Liverpool - A massive shock at Molineux. Rob Edwards' side now travel to Brentford on Monday night in a tricky away fixture.
Liverpool host Spurs on Sunday - An open game expected under Arne Slot, with Palace arriving at Anfield in poor form after losing 3-1 to Crystal Palace.
Arsenal 1-0 Brighton - Another clean sheet for Arteta's side. They face Everton at home on Saturday evening - a huge FPL angle.
Chelsea 4-1 Aston Villa - Liam Rosenior's Chelsea now host Newcastle on Saturday. João Pedro and Palmer both delivered.
Crystal Palace 3-1 Spurs - Palace in fine form, hosting Leeds at home on Sunday.
Man Utd host Aston Villa on Sunday - Emery's Villa looking for a response after recent struggles.
Nott'm Forest host Fulham on Sunday - Forest favoured in the fixture difficulty ratings.
Man City travel to West Ham on Saturday evening - Guardiola's side rated strong favourites.
One name dominating the transfer market this week is Thiago from Brentford - over 170,000 transfers IN but also over 110,000 transfers OUT. That level of panic and indecision around a single player is a major red flag. We'll explain why the sell side is winning below.
🔥 GW29 Standout Performers
Before we look ahead, here are the players who lit up GW29 and deserve recognition:
| Player | Team | GW29 Pts | GW29 G/A |
|---|---|---|---|
| João Pedro | Chelsea | 19 | 3G / 1A |
| Sarr | Crystal Palace | 15 | 2G / 0A |
| Tarkowski | Everton | 15 | 1G / 0A |
| J. Timber | Arsenal | 13 | 0G / 1A |
| Anderson | Nott'm Forest | 12 | 1G / 0A |
| André | Wolves | 12 | 1G / 0A |
| Gibbs-White | Nott'm Forest | 8 | 1G / 0A |
| Dewsbury-Hall | Everton | 9 | 1G / 0A |
| Salah | Liverpool | 9 | 1G / 0A |
| Palmer | Chelsea | 9 | 1G / 0A |
✅ Top 3 Transfers IN for Gameweek 30
1. Kieran Dewsbury-Hall (Everton MID) - £5.1m | 5% ownership
The standout budget pick of the week. Dewsbury-Hall bagged a goal and a clean sheet in GW29 for 9 points, and his underlying numbers back up the hype all season - 6 goals and 5 assists, with 7 clean sheets to his name. At £5.1m with only 5% ownership, he's a genuine differential with great value. Arsenal at home on Saturday might look daunting on paper, but David Moyes' Everton have been in excellent form, and the expected points of 5.3 back up his inclusion. If you need to free up budget without sacrificing productivity, Dewsbury-Hall is your answer.
Verdict: ESSENTIAL ✅
2. Morgan Gibbs-White (Nott'm Forest MID) - £7.3m | 4.2% ownership
Over 114,000 transfers in this week alone - the FPL community has clearly identified this one. Gibbs-White scored against Man City in GW29 for 8 points and has now hit 8 goals this season. What makes him so compelling for GW30 is his expected points of 6.3, which is the highest of any midfielder in our data for this week. Forest host Fulham on Sunday in a fixture the difficulty ratings favour strongly for Forest, making this a near-perfect storm. At 4.2% ownership, owning him when he fires could be the difference in your mini-league.
Verdict: GOOD BUY - Get him in ✅
You can check the full fixture difficulty ratings to understand why Forest vs Fulham is such an appealing matchup this week.
3. Henderson (Crystal Palace GKP) - £5.0m | 8.4% ownership
Ten clean sheets and 86 saves this season - Henderson has been one of the best value goalkeepers all campaign long, and GW30 sets up beautifully for him. Crystal Palace host Leeds at home on Sunday, and Oliver Glasner's side just put three goals past Spurs. Leeds have been struggling for goals, and the expected points of 7.3 make Henderson arguably the best goalkeeper option at his price point. If your keeper spot needs an upgrade, this is the move.
Verdict: ESSENTIAL if you need a keeper upgrade ✅
❌ Top 3 Transfers OUT for Gameweek 30
1. Thiago (Brentford FWD) - £7.2m | 35% ownership
This is the most urgent decision of the week. Thiago blanked again in GW29, picking up just 2 points from 90 minutes - and it's not a one-off blip. His form rating sits at just 3.0, and his expected points for GW30 are a concerning 3.5. Brentford host Wolves on Monday night in a fixture that doesn't flatter Thomas Frank's side in the difficulty ratings. With 110,000 managers already selling and 170,000 coming in, the turnover is enormous and ownership is volatile. If Thiago blanks again, further price drops will follow. Don't be left holding this one.
Verdict: SELL - urgently ❌
2. Mbeumo (Man Utd FWD) - £8.7m | 23% ownership
Another premium asset losing momentum fast. Mbeumo managed just 1 point in GW29 despite 76 minutes on the pitch - and the data doesn't offer much comfort going forward. Nine goals this season, but a form rating of just 3.0 and expected points of only 3.5 for GW30. Man Utd host Aston Villa on Sunday, and Unai Emery's side will be looking for a response. With 150,000 transfers out already processed, the community has spoken. At £8.7m, that budget is better deployed elsewhere.
Verdict: SELL ❌
3. Iwobi (Fulham MID) - £6.4m | 2.3% ownership
Iwobi blanked in GW29, picking up just 2 points, and the GW30 fixture is where alarm bells ring louder. Fulham travel to Nott'm Forest on Sunday - the same Forest we've just flagged as a strong home side with the highest expected-points midfielder in the game this week. At £6.4m, Iwobi sits in a premium mid-price bracket where better options are available right now. His form rating of 8.3 looks flashy on paper, but that was built on earlier hauls that look like distant history. Trim the fat here if you need the funds.
Verdict: SELL if you need the funds ❌
💡 Differentials to Consider (Sub-10% Ownership)
These picks could separate you from the pack in your mini-leagues this week:
Rodrigo (Man City MID) - £6.3m | 0.5% ownership
Criminally under the radar. Rodrigo scored in GW29 and collected 2 bonus points for a total of 9 points - and almost nobody owns him. Man City travel to West Ham on Saturday evening, and Guardiola's side are rated as strong favourites with a fixture difficulty of just 2 away at the London Stadium. His expected points of 6.5 for GW30 make him genuinely compelling. At 0.5% ownership, if he fires, the mini-league gains will be massive. This is a high-ceiling differential.
Raya (Arsenal GKP) - £6.0m | 34.7% ownership
Technically above the 10% differential threshold, but worth highlighting as a captaincy and clean sheet option. Raya has 14 clean sheets this season and picked up 7 points in GW29. Arsenal are at home to Everton on Saturday evening with a fixture difficulty of 3 - a solid clean sheet opportunity for any manager who needs a reliable Saturday goalkeeper. If you play your captain on a keeper (in exceptional circumstances), Raya could be that man.
Stach (Leeds MID) - £4.7m | 2.6% ownership
Four goals and six assists this season for a midfielder priced under £5m - that is exceptional underlying value for the price. Leeds travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday in a tough fixture, but Stach has been consistently involved for a team punching above their weight. His expected points of 5.7 for GW30 are strong at this price bracket, and he's a fantastic budget enabler who keeps contributing. If you want to free up funds elsewhere, Stach is one of the smartest ways to do it.

🎖️ Captaincy Recommendation for GW30
The captaincy decision is relatively clear-cut this week:
Captain: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - Liverpool host Spurs on Sunday. Despite losing to Wolves in GW29, Liverpool remain one of the most dangerous attacking sides at home, and Salah scored in GW29 for 9 points. He's 5 goals and 6 assists into his season and is the standout armband choice if you own him.
Vice-Captain: Cole Palmer (Chelsea) - Palmer scored in GW29 for 9 points and Chelsea host Newcastle at home on Saturday. His expected points of 4.8 back him up as the second-choice armband. Nine goals and 2 assists this season, and in good recent nick.
If Salah is in your squad, he's the armband. No debate needed this week.
📌 Key Tip: Don't Chase the Thiago Sell Too Late
With 170,000 transfers in competing against 110,000 transfers out, Thiago's ownership is volatile and his price is in a dangerous position. If he doesn't haul against Wolves on Monday night, further price drops will accelerate. Use that budget wisely - Dewsbury-Hall at £5.1m is the upgrade that makes complete sense right now. He ticks the boxes on value, form, fixtures and expected points. Don't overthink it.
