A lot has happened heading into GW8. Here's what you need to know right now:

  • Saka (Arsenal) - Major injury concern. Reports suggest it doesn't look good. If he misses Arsenal's home clash with Everton, it's a huge blow for his holders. Monitor team news closely before the deadline today.

  • Szoboszlai (Liverpool) - Hamstring injury, unknown return date. Already seeing nearly 330,000 transfers out this gameweek. If you've got him, he needs to go.

  • Haaland (Man City) - Confirmed fit to start. Important news ahead of City's tough trip to Aston Villa in GW8.

  • Gvardiol (Man City) - Injury concern following European action. Monitor before the deadline.

  • Cherki (Man City) - Zero points and zero minutes played in GW8. A serious red flag with a tough away fixture at Villa coming up.

✅ Top 3 Transfers IN for Gameweek 8

1. Riccardo Calafiori - Arsenal DEF - £6.0m

Ownership: 54% | GW7 Points: 6 | Expected Points GW8: 7.5 | Season: 4 clean sheets, 1 goal, 2 assists

Calafiori is the standout defensive pick for GW8. Arsenal host Everton at home - a juicy fixture - and Calafiori is their most reliable attacking outlet from the backline. He banked six points in GW7 with a clean sheet and his expected points for GW8 sit at an excellent 7.5. Four clean sheets, a goal, and two assists this season make him exceptional value at just £6.0m. The market has already caught on with nearly 96,000 transfers in this week. If the Saka injury is confirmed, Arsenal defenders become even more critical as the team's primary FPL assets. Get him in.

2. Evanilson - Bournemouth FWD - £6.1m

Ownership: 4.6% | GW7 Points: 12 | Season: 2 goals, 4 assists | Form Rating: 9.5

Evanilson absolutely hauled in GW7 - a goal, an assist, a clean sheet, and three bonus points in just 78 minutes. That is elite output for a £6.1m striker. With 2 goals and 4 assists on the season and a form rating of 9.5, he's in red-hot shape. Bournemouth host Man United in GW8, which is a solid fixture on paper. At only 4.6% ownership, he's a differential with serious potential. We've been watching Tavernier for weeks - now Evanilson is the Bournemouth man who's impossible to ignore.

Check live price changes to see if Evanilson is already rising - acting fast could save you money.

3. Tavernier - Bournemouth DEF - £6.2m

Ownership: 9.7% | GW7 Points: 10 | Season: 4 goals | Price: Rising (already up 2 points this week)

We've flagged Tavernier as essential in recent weeks, and he delivered again in GW7 - a goal, a clean sheet, and two bonus points for 10 points total. Four goals this season from a defender at £6.2m is outstanding value. Bournemouth host Man United in GW8, and with Tavernier's form and price already rising, the window to get him cheaply is closing fast. If you haven't acted yet, today is the day.

❌ Top 3 Transfers OUT for Gameweek 8

1. Szoboszlai - Liverpool MID - £6.8m

Ownership: 18.8% | Expected Points GW8: 0 | Transfers Out: ~330,000

Hamstring injury. Unknown return date. Zero expected points for GW8. Liverpool face Brighton at home - not a fixture to take lightly either. There is absolutely no reason to hold. Nearly 330,000 managers are already moving him on, and the green arrow temptation is not worth the risk here. Sell immediately and reinvest in someone making a difference this week.

2. Cherki - Man City MID - £8.0m

Ownership: 38.1% | GW7 Points: 0 | Transfers Out: ~90,000 (and rising)

Zero points in GW7 - not through a blank on the scoresheet, but zero minutes played. He didn't feature in the Ipswich win at all. With Man City travelling to Aston Villa in GW8 - one of the toughest away days in the league - and ~90,000 transfers out already, the case for selling is strong. Cherki was an intriguing differential pick earlier in the week, but the blank and the fixture have changed the calculus entirely. If your budget allows an upgrade elsewhere, moving him on is the right call.

3. Groß - Brighton MID - £6.2m

Ownership: 45.5% | GW7 Points: 5 | Fixture: Away at Liverpool

Groß picked up just five points in GW7 and was subbed off at 70 minutes, suggesting he may not be nailed. Brighton travel to Liverpool in GW8, which is a tough away fixture. He's not an urgent sell if you're happy with your squad, but if you're looking to fund Evanilson or Tavernier, Groß is your most sensible fundraiser given his price point.

💎 Differential Picks - Under 10% Ownership

Looking for an edge over your mini-league rivals? These three picks are flying under the radar heading into GW8.

F. Kadıoğlu - Brighton DEF - £4.4m

Ownership: 1.7% | GW7 Points: 6 | Season: 4 clean sheets

At £4.4m, the price is almost too good to be true. Kadıoğlu has registered four clean sheets this season and picked up six points in GW7. Yes, Brighton travel to Liverpool in GW8, but their defensive record has been outstanding all season. If you're restructuring your defence and need a budget enabler, he's a brilliant option with significant upside.

Henderson - Chelsea MID - £4.9m

Ownership: 1.2% | Form Rating: 10.5 (best in the data) | Points Per Game: 7.7 | Season: 2 goals, 1 assist

Henderson's form rating of 10.5 is the best in our entire dataset, and he's averaging 7.7 points per game this season. Two goals and an assist already, and Chelsea host Spurs in GW8 - a London derby and a genuine goal-scoring opportunity. At under £5m with just 1.2% ownership, he's the kind of differential that wins mini-leagues. If you have the budget to squeeze him in, he's well worth the punt.

Rudoni - Coventry City MID - £4.9m

Ownership: 0.4% | GW7 Points: 6 | Season: 2 goals | Form Rating: 6.5

Rudoni scored in GW7 picking up six points, and Coventry host Fulham in GW8 - a very playable home fixture. Two goals on the season and 0.4% ownership make him the ultimate differential. He won't be for everyone, but for managers willing to be brave, Rudoni could deliver a serious green arrow.

🎖️ Captaincy Pick - Gameweek 8

Our captain for Gameweek 8 is Tavernier.

  • Home fixture vs Man United - a very favourable matchup

  • 10-point haul in GW7 - goal, clean sheet, and two bonus points

  • 4 goals this season from a defensive position at £6.2m

  • Bournemouth in outstanding attacking and defensive form

  • Rising price signals the market is backing him heavily

Tavernier is the standout armband choice this week. He's in form, he's got a great home fixture, and he's shown he can deliver big points. If you want a premium alternative, keep a close eye on Arsenal assets - particularly Calafiori - once the Saka injury picture becomes clearer. But right now, with the information available, Tavernier is the call.
